By removing a pin and unplugging the harness, you can swing the chute to the right (passenger side) to access the drivetrain for easier cleaning, maintenance, or unloading. This position also allows you to conveniently fill walk-behind spreaders, buckets, or bins directly from the hopper while on the job site.

Whether constructed from stainless steel or poly, either are viable options that can ensure strength and performance options to maximize performance. It really comes down to contractor preference. The choice typically depends on the type of de-icing material used, price point, and desired hopper feature set. Although polyethylene is most popular for its ability to be molded in specific geometries and being lightweight, it’s still durable and corrosion resistant. The poly material used in the MARAUDER™ poly hoppers enable the design to feature the standard interlocking poly lid system which protects de-icing material from the elements and the vehicle bed from inadvertent spill-over during loading. This is especially useful in wet storms where bridging is likely.

Our poly models span the full width of the truck bed to maximize capacity, which leaves little room for side storage once installed in the vehicle. However, these units feature a convenient “stand-on-end” design for off-season storage—simply remove the chute to store the hopper vertically, saving significant space in your shop.

The redesigned MARAUDER™ poly tub features updated geometry with slanted angles that promote consistent material flow and even unloading. This ensures the right amount of material is fed to the material delivery system, especially beneficial to the HELIXX™ auger system. We also upgraded the lid system to add a more durable hinge and latch design that includes an integrated leverage point and channels that prevent moisture from collecting on the lids.

The lid features a specialized latch designed for easy access from the ground. To open the lid, an operator can insert a 2×4 or a shovel handle into a molded-in pocket acting as a lever arm to open he lid open safely and easily.
