Western Products Announces Two New Hopper Spreaders for Half-Ton Trucks and UTVs

The new spreaders are on display for the first time at the 2020 NTEA Work Truck Show.

MILWAUKEE (March 4, 2020) – Western Products, manufacturer of WESTERN® snow removal and ice control equipment, has unveiled two all-new Striker® stainless steel hopper spreaders at the 2020 NTEA Work Truck Show. Most notably, the 0.7 cu yd model is purpose-built for half-ton and light-duty trucks, while delivering the same durability and performance of WESTERN’s larger Striker models.
“This isn’t just sized down to fit a different truck. We purposefully designed this new 0.7 cu yd Striker spreader for light-duty applications and smaller spaces,” said Doug Clark, product manager for WESTERN. “Now contractors will have more options and ways to attack the challenges that snow and ice bring.”
WESTERN also announced the new Striker 0.35 cu yd stainless steel hopper spreader, designed for UTVs and compact trucks and ideal for sidewalks, walkways, and small driveways. On both models, operators can precisely manage material flow with the dual variable-speed control and pintle chain conveyor delivery system. The stainless steel, riveted construction provides durable, lightweight performance that the intended vehicle can handle.
The Striker 0.7 cu yd stainless steel hopper spreader offers a 54” long hopper with a 15 ½” pintle chain and up to 30 feet of spreading width. Meanwhile, the 0.35 cu yd stainless steel hopper spreader has a 30” long hopper with a 11 ½” pintle chain and delivers a spreading width of up to 30 feet. Users have the option to add a pre-wet and direct liquid application kit accessory to the larger Striker 0.7 cu yd model. With the addition of this accessory, the spreader can also be used to pre-wet materials or spray brine directly onto the driving surface for anti-icing applications. The accessory kit includes two 25-gallon pre-wet tanks, a pump and a spray kit.
