Compact Equipment Magazine selects PILE DRIVER™ lineup as top choice for attachments

MILWAUKEE (January 17, 2023) – Western Products, the leading manufacturer of snow and ice control equipment, is the proud recipient of a 2022 Innovative Iron Award from Compact Equipment magazine for its PILE DRIVER™ lineup of pusher plows with TRACE™ edge technology.

Each year, the staff at Compact Equipment Magazine attends trade shows, product launches, zoom interviews, and demos to analyze and catalog every model of compact machinery released across construction, landscaping, and agriculture markets. At the end of the year, the publication decides who will receive the year’s coveted Innovative Iron Awards—a designation highlighting the equipment that stood out from its competition.

The “Attachments” category celebrates the attachments and implements that help operators tailor their compact equipment to perform very specific tasks. Western Products, an industry leader in attachments for snow and ice control, became one of twelve companies to receive the honor.

“This recognition really means a lot to us”, said Andy McArdle, Vice President of Marketing—CSI at Douglas Dynamics. “Our teams have worked so hard on the PILE DRIVER pushers and TRACE edge technology, and to be given this honor by the compact equipment industry truly validates our push into high-capacity snow pushers for skid-steers and wheel loaders.”

Available in 8-, 10- and 12-ft widths, the award-winning PILE DRIVER plows come with three heights and a common carrier attachment system making them compatible with skid-steers, wheel loaders, tractors and backhoe loaders. The lineup features the patent-pending TRACE (Terrain Response

Advanced Cutting Edge) technology, which is made up of independent 2-foot sections that oscillate, move vertically and trip to accommodate contours and obstacles in the plowable surface.

Each blade section is equipped with a 3/4-in. cutting edge with carbide inserts for heavy-duty commercial applications. A cleaner scrape is achieved with self-leveling side plates that keep the TRACE edge in contact with the plowing surface. The skis are fitted with reversible, bolt-on skis that allow both sides of the edge to be used before replacing.
